Apologies, Winter
Picture: Farid BellalThe rain begins its gentle rhythm
Like the soft murmur of your lips
Here is the window by the veranda
How many raindrops that soften the midday dreamThe road is slippery and there come her steps
For nearly a day, rows of trees are getting wet
Graceful Ao Dai weaving in sunlight
Winter dampens all that feels like dreamsThe fields, low and high
With the cracked feet, mending and split anew
Which restless wind passing by
Etching our breaths as if longing being fermentedThe betel tray is there without any betel leaves
Pale lips in the whispers of the night
Winter could be felt by the wings of the birds
Sorrow falling in the passing afternoon with little promiseBy the porch scattering little droplets …
